Stores Participating in the Scanning Code of Practice

In a previous post I shared with you some information about the Scanning Code of Practice. Below is a list of the stores I have verified participate in this initiative. Please feel free to tell me of any stores that you have verified and I will gladly add them to this list (with a link back for credit of course). Keeping consumers informed is as easy as just telling your own friends something that they didn\’t already know.

The Retail Council of Canada has a sidebar of some retailers that have joined and a contact number for unresolved issues.

If a Code of Practice problem cannot be resolved at the store level, please call 1-866-499-4599 to register your complaint.

I was just at Walmart in Terrace,BC & they don’t follow this code. I caught them on something that was supposed to be $10.97 – They scanned $11.94. When I brought this to their attention they refunded the difference.
I will be challenging them on why their name is listed on the RCC website as signing up for this voluntary code.

just talked to a manager about this & they informed me that the store doesn’t automatically adhere to this policy – you have to mention it to them.
